On Thursday, Amazon has increased thee prices for prime members. The price of the annual membership will now cost $99 a year, which was originally $79. A student membership will cost $49 annually. Amazon says the price increase is due to an increase of fuel and shipping cost. The company also said that it has increased the benefits of the program by offering free shipping on about 19 million items.
